| Detailing Knife #7 is a carving and shaving tool.
To do pierce out work, make a pilot hole, then use the tip of the Knife to Ôrelieve the cornersÕ. |
Make cuts from the corners toward the hole. This makes it easier to open up windows neatly and without overcutting.
|
| The beveled edge of the Detailing Knife #7 is ideal for shaving wax and carving fine details.
Removing too much material at once often results in over cutting and cracked waxes. It is better to remove material a sliver or shaving at a time.
|
To open up windows, shave away slivers of wax, cutting from corner to corner (clockwise and counter clockwise). Relieve corners again, then shave away wax from corner to corner- repeating as necessary until windows are open. Neaten up windows with Taper triangle tool #12.
